Description

Located in the comarca of Osona, it covers an area of 22.2 km². The municipality is made up of different centres - Vinyoles, La Gleva, and other centres of population that are growing in importance - El Despujol, El Poble-Sec, Burrissola, Sant Miquel d’Ordeig and Conanglell. Scattered throughout the area there are also numerous farmhouses.

In terms of important places within the municipality, particularly outstanding are: the Sanctuary at La Gleva, the Chapel of Sant Martí Xic, the ruins of Voltregà Castle, the Romanesque Church of Sant Esteve de Vinyoles... . Around these sites, Les Masies de Voltregà has developed a range of commercial activities such as the production and sale of homemade cured sausages, or a number of restaurants.

Romanesque Church of Vinyoles

Where Mn. Jacint Verdaguer acted as resident curate from 1871 to 1873, contains a series of allegorical dioramas that refer to the life of the poet, and outside which stands the laurel that he himself planted in the rectory garden, cuttings from which are today growing in many of the places he subsequently went to live in.

Sanctuary of Nostra Senyora de la Gleva

Is where many walkers choose to stop when hiking along the long-distance GR-3 footpath. Many other visitors come to the Sanctuary to admire the majestic altarpiece or to see the bedchamber that housed Mn Jacint Verdaguer during his stay at La Gleva between 1893 and 1895.

Chapel of Sant Martí Xic and ruins of Voltregà Castle

These are the oldest and historically most important group of buildings in the whole of the Voltreganès area. From here there are marvellous views of the whole of the Vic Plain.

Trekking path Camí Vora Ter GR-210

Long distance trekking path, of 61 Km, it passes through Les Masies de Voltregà. It approximates us not only to flora and fauna’s patrimony but also the cultural and industrial ones.

Short-distance foootpaths PR C 49 and PR C54

BTTer. Manlleu - Voltreganès mountain bike circuit

Two-way permanent track, suitable for cycling, jogging or for trekking. It follows the GR 210 Camí Vora Ter in some stretches.
