The Manlleu industrial canal dates from 1848. It is almost 2 km long and rich in history. Besides supplying power for 7 factories and 2 mills, the Manlleu
canal was the meeting point for the women of working class families since it was there that they did their washing. The existence of the canal made Manlleu the industrial capital of Osona and even today it powers the turbine “Francis” of the Industrial Museum of the Ter, working by means of an automated generator. The guided tour makes it possible to see some chutes in operation and their characteristic elements: turbines, separators, gates, barrages, etc. A grand exhibition of ingenuity and use of resources.
During the tour we will stop at certain points to observe different aspects of the river: its meanders, the barrages, the islands on the river, flora and fauna.
Guided tour for groups of at least 15 people. Prior reservations required.
