N 42º 02’ 15"E 02º 14’ 18" La Farga Lacambra commemorated the company’s bicentennial with the opening of the Copper Museum in 2008, the 17th of April. It is located in a modernista building from the beginning of the 20th century which was formerly the residence of the company’s owners, the Counts of Lacambra. This museum sheds light on the importance of the first metal used by mankind, which is not only an excellent conductor of both heat and electricity, but is also vital for our health. | |
The Copper Museum has been designed in order to be an area of participation that goes beyond the exposition of pieces and encourages the visitor to experiment himself with this metal. Four areas make up the museum, each dedicated to a different subject: the history of La Farga Lacambra, the history of copper, the processes and applications of the metal and copper as a chemical element. One of the attractions of visiting the museum is a catwalk that runs along part of the factory line that allows you to observe the smelting copper and its production process.
