Description

Sant Pere de Torelló is of particular note for its enormous natural heritage, with 80% of the municipality (of 57.47 km²) being wooded. This offers a large number of attractive spots to visit.

Sant Pere de Torelló
It need hardly surprise us, then, that woodturning has, since the middle of the last century, become the most important source of work locally. Initially, this work was done on a craft basis but with time the industry has become increasingly mechanised, though it is still very much dominated by small family companies with small workshops where various members of the same family work.

The manufacture of cowbells, for which Sant Pere was in the past very famous, died out completely in the 1930s.

Santuari de Bellmunt
Visitors to Sant Pere de Torelló should not miss out on the chance of visiting such delightful spots as the Santuari de Nostra Senyora de Bellmunt, the Grevolosa beechwood, the hamlet of Sant Andreu de la Vola or the Molí del Salt waterfall, to cite just a few examples of what can be found here.
