Vista de Sora
Sora is a village, placed in the Bisaura area, surrounded by forest and streams, it owns a lot of disseminated population, who live in masies , and who are historically dedicated to agriculture and cattle raising. Its situation is placed at the edge of Osona and Ripollès, in Sora riera’s valley, -which is a Ter affluent. There has always been a lot of relationship with ancient neighbourhoods of Corbatera and of St. Miquel de Gallifa. In meridian section of the village it is placed the riera (the stream) called of Cussons.
Natural landscape attractive, tranquillity in the air, and a natural relative isolation, have get that nowadays, most of the houses had become second residences and that many houses had been built in its country.

Forest of pines, evergreen oaks, oaks-trees, and alder trees, mostly. In a Pre-Pyrenees valley with an average highness of and surrounded by high peaks (more than 1000m. in the Northern part or of Sovelles, 943m. in the Western part, over la Tremolosa, etc.)

Church’s gardens
The centre of the village is placed surrounding the St. Pere de Sora’s church. It current structure is from 17th Century, but it is known that a primitive church was built and consecrated in 960 (10th Century) thanks to Ranio abbess from St. Joan de les Abadesses Monastery and to bishop Ató from Vic. Possibly it had more improvements before the 17th Century. Revolution of 1936 destroyed its altar-pieces.

Duocastella or Doscastells castle’s emplacement
Nowadays there are no rests. Rocafiguera’s castle (called like that by the fact of being placed in that name property) was a castle linked to Barcelona’s house.

In 1224, its last Lord transferred it to Militar Order of Hospitalers de Sant Joan de Jerusalem , who linked the castle to its command in Vic.

Afterwards, the castle owned to different knights, since 1628, when it was purchased by the Descatllar, Lords of Besora and Sant Quirze. From the XVII Century, it loses its importance, despite of the lordship maintains formally since its abolition in XIX Century.

La Bella Antònia
It is a huge Wellington’s sequoia, placed at the Rocafiguera’s private property.
Its name is a popular degeneration of the English name: Wellington. This tree sizes 30 m. of altitude and has a perimeter of 5 m. at 1 m. from ground level.

Hermit of Sant Joan de Sora
Romanesque hermit also called del Noguer. It took part of the aids of the church. It is placed in a private property.

Annexe of the Trekking path Camí vora Ter GR-210
Long distance trekking path, of 60 km. approx. And that follows the river Ter’s flow. One of its annexes takes us to Sora. It invites us to discover not only flora and fauna’s patrimony but also the cultural and industrial.
