| The route continues to Vinyoles. There we find the Romanic church where Verdaguer served as a “shepherd of souls” for two years. He planted a bay tree (the tree of poets and immortality) in the rectory garden that today is now over a hundred years old and has become a destination for many pilgrims dedicated to Verdaguer. During that two years stay in Vinyoles, he wrote most of the poem, L’Atlàntida
