The Industrial Museum of the Ter provides a testimony to the industrial vitality of the middle Ter, which played a leading role in the industrialisation of two of its most representative production sectors: textiles and machinery manufacture.

The Museum is located in the “factory on the river” Can Sanglas de Manlleu , at the point where the Manlleu industrial canal, one of the most significant in the industrialisation of Catalonia (1848) ends its course, of close to two kilometres.

The Can Sanglas building, an old cotton spinning plant built in 1842 has been turned into a museum focussing on the subject of industrialisation, in which the great productive and social transformations that the use of the energy from the Ter River made possible starting in the mid-19th century are put on exhibition. It also hosts the Centre for Studies on Mediterranean Rivers, devoted to study and research on the natural river heritage.
